Spring Park is situated along the west bank of the St. Johns River at 106 St. Johns Avenue in Green Cove Springs. Visitors can access the park via Walnut Street, Magnolia Avenue, Spring Street, or Ferris Street/St. Johns Avenue. Spring Park is open to the public from sunrise to sunset year round.
The central attraction in Spring Park is the hot springs. 3,000 gallons of water surge out of the springs every minute, and the water is a constant 72 degrees. The water flows into the Spring Park swimming pool, and from there into the Spring Run which meanders to the St. Johns River.
Needless to say, the 135,000-gallon swimming pool and splash pad attract visitors of all ages, to bathe and frolic in the warm spring water. Another popular attraction is the playground which features state-of-the-art equipment for the kids to enjoy.
This Green Cove Springs park has many covered shelters that are perfect for family picnics or for just relaxing in the shade. There is also a two-story pavilion and numerous paths throughout the park, so you can take a leisurely stroll and admire views of the St. Johns River and the lovely oak trees draped with Spanish moss.
Spring Park also hosts many Green Cove Springs events such as the Third Saturday Market in the Park, and the Memorial Day RiverFest which takes place every May.
