The Honda CR-V LX safety rating from the IIHS* was graded in terms of Crash Avoidance Mitigation and Crashworthiness. Other categories included Headlights and Child Seat Anchors.

The CR-V safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration** applied the LX FWD configuration. They rated the CR-V on a 5-star scale in the following 4 categories:
